It's never too late

I've decided one thing and one thing only after all of this dance watching craze today,
I will dance again.
It's never too late to do what you have dreamed of and loved your entire life.
I never will be as good as these dancers who i've been watching all day, but i'll be doing what I love and that is quite enough for me. I think it's important to have the one thing for yourself in life.
That one thing that will always make you happy, release emotion, and help you to feel beautiful. I think that most dancers will agree with me when I say that when I danced, I felt beautiful. I felt like I was doing something beautiful and meaningful, that was from my heart, and it was all coming from me.
I could be in my own world, feeling my own emotions, and giving it my all, and feel like I was apart of something.
If my kids will know one thing that I have learned in life, it's that you need to do what you want to do. You need to follow your passions, dreams, and desires. Everyone needs to find their own way of expressing themselves.
Dancing just happened to be mine. Was I good at it? No. But I absolutely loved it. Thats all that matters.

Everyone needs something to show them that they are capable of hard work and accomplishing hard things.
Being connected with other people through the things you are passionate about is such a rewarding thing.

My little brother is at that age where he is trying out for accelerated sports teams. We were talking about a certain accelerated basketball team tonight, and him wanting to tryout for it. We were talking about how most of the time you don't just tryout and make it the first time. For a lot of people it takes A LOT of hard work and time, but in the end it's always worth it. I tried out for my dance team... four years in a row and didn't make it until my fifth time trying out. hahaha. That is so embarrassing and just shows how absolutely terrible of a dancer I was, but the year I DID make it, it meant so so so so much to me and I was willing to do whatever it took to keep progressing. It was absolutely devastating each time I opened that envelope only to find that I hadn't made it. It was sad for me to feel like I wasn't really good at anything, but I bucked up and went back each year with a new determination to work a little bit harder, so I could just get myself on that team, and sure enough, it eventually paid off.
It's so bittersweet to watch my little brother have to go through this time in his life when all he wants is to be the best, but like I said earlier, we don't always get to be the best. That's a VERY hard lesson to learn, especially when you are that age and pretty much an only child.
But when he sees how much all of his hard work paid off, my goodness, he will be so very grateful he kept at it.
I'm so grateful for parents who pushed me through all of those years of dance lessons. Even if I did end up quitting for other things, I am so grateful they supported me until the very end. Even now, when I want to go back to dance, they are right behind me saying, "Go for it!"
They are the greatest parents in the world. I promise.
